Match NeoForge and Minecraft
Begin with the Minecraft version used by your NeoForge instance. On the official FallingTree release list, confirm both that game version and the NeoForge loader tag before downloading.
Use the correct instance folder
Launchers that support multiple instances often maintain a separate mods directory for each one. Open the folder from the launcher when possible so you do not accidentally install FallingTree into a different profile.
Add the JAR without extracting it
Move the FallingTree NeoForge JAR directly into the mods folder. Mod JARs are archives internally, but they are meant to remain intact for the loader.
Server and client consistency
For a multiplayer setup, review the official project notes for the features you intend to use. Some setups can be server-focused, while particular configured behavior may also need the mod on clients. Keep versions consistent where client installation is required.
Diagnose one variable at a time
If NeoForge reports an error, note the mod ID, required version, and dependency listed in the message. Verify the FallingTree loader variant first, then the Minecraft version, then other dependency or mod conflicts.
